Transforming a neighborhood tap into a full-service restaurant on Lancaster Avenue.

People's Emergency Center CDC
Context
The Lancaster Avenue Commercial Corridor is a wide, heavily-traveled street with a rich collection of historic buildings. People's Emergency Center CDC (PEC CDC) is working to spur reinvestment along the corridor, which serves both students and families living in Powelton, West Powelton, Mantua, and Saunders Park. PEC CDC's revitalization strategy includes introducing mixed-use development, developing a neighborhood arts district, and adding new retail to increase evening activity levels.
Site
The New Angle, a neighborhood tap at the entrance of the Lancaster Avenue commercial corridor.
Challenge
To make this triangular building more inviting and open to the street, address the feasibility of reusing the structure as a full-service restaurant, and preserve historic elements while creating a beacon for corridor.
