Glassphemy

In October 2009, a meeting of architects, urban planners and public artists was convened by the Community Design Collaborative to think of 'interim uses' for empty lots in neighborhoods throughout the city. One of the discussions centered around a lot well-known along the Frankford Avenue Arts Corridor for harboring piles of broken glass. Part game, part art installation, part mobile recycling center, Glassphemy! is a 20-by 30 foot steel structure brought to life by Macro-Sea as a response to littering on vacant lots. Stay tuned, coming to Philadelphia in October 2010!
